PULP  is once again pulling off the country’s wildest music festival, the Pulp Summer Slam. This year’s line up is the most diverse and odious ever beckoned to us.

Deathfest killers Cannibal Corpse and Metalcore veterans As I Lay Dying are among the headliners that will surely make the moshpit bakers and the slammers revel in the glory of brutality!

Pulp Summer Slam 13 ‘Till Death Do Us Part‘ will be held at Amoranto Stadium in Quezon City on Saturday April 27, 2013. Gates will open at 12 noon. Tickets are now available for ₱400 inclusive of freebies such as beer, soda, pizza and more!

Count the days and I will see you at the Slam!

I’m surprised this is the first one we’re hearing about. After speaking to multiple booking agents and managers in recent weeks, it seems the consensus is that bands will be skipping the Czech Republic during future touring in Europe. This is not only in support of Randy Blythe, who is still detained in a Czech prison, but for their own safety. Ultimately, they don’t want what happened to Randy to happen to them.

Today, hardcore mainstays Terror sent out a press release saying they are cancelling their Czech date of their upcoming European tour. Here is their official statement:

“TERROR is going to cancel their show in the Czech Republic this month. We feel obligated to stand up for Randy Blythe. This situation seems to be taken too lightly. Randy comes from punk and hardcore roots, just like TERROR. He still supports underground music and has always supported TERROR– even singing on stage alongside us when we play Richmond. This hits really close to home for us having members of the band and our crew from the hometown of LAMB OF GOD.”

“We love our Czech fans very much and have amazing shows there, but we need to ‘stick tight’ to our friend Randy, which is why we have chosen to cancel the show. As a band that could easily be in this same position at any given show, we don’t think we can play there and act like this is OK – it isn’t.”

“This is bigger than a hashtag or a clever t-shirt– we as a community need to take action and speak up. Free Randy Blythe.”

The big losers here are the Czech metal fans, who will certainly be missing out on a lot of shows in the future. Beyond just skipping Czech dates, except much stricter rules about moshing, stage diving, and crowd surfing in the future as well. Once these lawsuits get involved, it sucks all the fun out of metal, because ultimately, what makes these shows fun, is also considered unsafe by outsides and could be privy to lawsuits, which is something not many bands want to deal with.

The pioneer of American thrash metal movement MEGADETH will have a one night of total destruction in Manila. This entitles us the right to go insane besides we are all addicted to chaos right?! So there it is the big announcement Pulp has brought to our attention after a few days of mind combustion they finally let go the smoke. Mark the date and start the countdown to extinction!

Desecrator share stages with some of the hardest working metal acts and quickly establish themselves as travel worthy peers in a tough to crack interstate scene. Bred on an ideal that music should have power to bring back from the dead true thrash metal with a new intensity and ferocity. The band says thrash never died if you think thrash is back then you might as well think its dead and if you think its dead we are its tombstone! The guys are ready to campaign the resurrection around the world starting out with their first international tour. The D.I.Y S.E.A will surely bring mayhem!

The most anticipated concert event of the year, Pulp Summer Slam will strike us again on April 28, 2012. Every year over 30,000 rock / metal fans form a monolith of devastation ready to emanate in the center of Amoranto Stadium all hungry for ruthless music beatings. Pulp Summer Slam converges more than 30 bands in its line up but to give justice to this year’s theme “Apóstolos” the event will gather 6 international bands ( Arch Enemy, August Burns Red, Bless The Fall, Darkest Hour, Periphery and We Came as Romans), 6 local bands ( Chicosci, Franco, Intolerant, Kamikazee, Sin and Urbandub).

Main headliner Arch Enemy will conduct a video filming for their upcoming live concert DVD and according to Pulp this will also be their last performance in the country. I will see you at the slam!

Heavy metal band Avenged Sevenfold from Huntington Beach, California is finally hitting the Philippine shores.

Since the release of the band’s sophomore album “Waking The Fallen” and their major label debut “City of Evil” they have gained the most loyal followers, sold out arenas and have sold more than four million album copies worldwide.

M. Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance, and Johnny Christ will be performing their worldwide hits at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on April 26, 2012! Watch these guys perform new songs like “Nightmare” and “Buried Alive” and classic A7X favorites like “Chapter Four”, “Bat Country” and “Unholy Confessions”.
