Kittie! One of my fave all-female metal groups. I was 11 when I first heard of Kittie. “What I Always Wanted” is the shit I see in my dreams. Personally their first years were their best. Their look, their sound, loved every bit of it. Now? I guess you can say they grew up and decided to look human. I’ve listened to “In The Black” and I was like, wait, this is Kittie?! their sound has definitely improved from their previous albums and I am very pleased, looking forward to their new album coming out this week!

New Kittie album ‘I’ve Failed You‘ coming out Aug 30th via eOne Music. I’m uber stoked and hope my cousin will kidnap me so I can get a copy! Kittie is probably the best all-female metal group I’ve ever had the honor to graze my ears upon (twisted eh?)

Ok folks, I got this album months ago and I still cant wrap my head around its message. It means SERIOUS business! with a spine chilling intro and an orgasmic end, Otep’s latest ablum Atavist is a must have.  I dropped the treble and turned up the bass on “Drunk on the Blood of saints” and I completely juiced up my pants! while “Skin of the Master” felt like my thoughts down a few shots of absynth, smoked some crack and had a total melt down. Otep’s words bore through my flesh and savagely mangle my soul. Her voice is that of a beautiful, seductive goddess of destruction. I don’t know about you but even though this may sound like “angry music”, I find myself at ease and in perfect solitude when I i listen to any of their albums. Just like “U R WMN NOW” from “Smash the Control Machine”, Atavist’s “We Dream Like Lions” soothes my spirit and and cradles my ego in an icy yogurt bath as bleed out on the bathroom floor. I’m dying to see the video for “Baby’s Breath”. I can only imagine the sound of the beast hammering her skull in over and over and over and over. A mortifying yet arousing sight. I’d hate to be her. The entire ablum is a mesh of anger, control, brutality and passion. Otep never fails to churn my marrow.
