Disney have been forced to remove a t-shirt from stores, after facing uproar for Joy Division fans, who claimed that the design was based on the band’s 1979 album, Unknown Pleasures.
The t-shirt was intended to be sold in Disney stores and at Disney themeparks, but now looks to become something of a collectors album after being removed from the shelves. The design features a diagram of white pulse-waves, on a black background. On the t-shirt in question, it seems that designers have unknowingly used the famous wave design to re-create the iconic image of Mickey Mouse’s head.
Despite the fact that pulse-waves were first printed by the Cambridge Encyclopedia of Astronomy and the image is officially available in the public domain, Disney has be subject to significant backlash from Joy Division fans. With sites such as Twitter making it easier than ever for those who object to make their feelings known quickly and easily whilst checking emails or playing Party poker, it seems that the children’s animation organisation have been inundated with complaints about the use of the design. In retrospect, using an image which is more commonly associated with the cult British rock band, Joy Division, to create that of the family entertainment icon does seem like a strange association to make.
Perhaps the uproar from fans can be at least partly attributed to the fact that, during their prime, Joy Division were wholly opposed to being a ‘brand-able’ band and, unlike many of their contemporaries, they avoided printing their own t-shirts. However, it seems that Joy Division bassist, Peter Hook, hasn’t taken too much offence to the Disney edition, reportedly stating that he “appreciate the irony” of the design.

Female fronted band Huntress will be releasing Spell Eater on April 27 via Napalm Records. According to a press release, “Huntress lead singer Jill Janus who is pretty hot by the way, is an operatic banshee with an unparalleled four-octave range and lust for the occult. Born and raised in the Catskill Mountains of New York, she toured Europe as a teenage opera starlet. Upon her return to the States, Janus embraced Manhattan nightlife, creating Felliniesque cabarets and parties in a nihilistic club scene. Years later, Janus moved to Los Angeles and began the gestation period of Huntress.”

The bulls have named “Eclipse” as the title of their third full-length album, out on February 28 via Sumerian Records.
Veil of Maya – began their careers by touring non stop, booking their own tours and self producing their own material with a Do-It-Yourself attitude. The band soon caught the attention of Sumerian Records who attended a live show and were soon being handed their first full length album All Things Set Aside.
Checkout the trailer, it’s dope!

Born of Osiris made the following statements about the band parting ways with guitarist Jason Richardson (the guy in white).
“To all of our fans and followers, we have decided to part ways with guitarist Jason Richardson,”
“This was something that just needed to happen,” they say, without further explanation; whack!
“We will be a more creative, energized, and focused unit as a result. The past year was the band’s most successful and we owe it all to our amazing fans. We promise everyone that 2012 will see us take further steps to bringing every aspect of our band to a new level. We couldn’t possibly be more excited for what the future holds.
Like the norm, the break up seems amicable but it is actually discordant when Jason Richardson responded…
Just to clarify to everyone I did NOT quit Born of Osiris, I would have never been able to bring myself to do such a thing no matter how much tension was between us. All of those dudes were essentially my family, I lived in the same house as them for over 2 years. This was by no means at all my decision(not that I was involved in the decision in any way shape or form lol). I have been fired from the band because I, “don’t agree with the way they want to live their lives” and “it felt like their dad was in the band.” So instead of confronting me about my eeeendless bitching about their excessive drinking and assorted drug abuse they decided that calling me at 1:30 in the morning 4 days before Christmas while I’m home visiting family to tell me that all of my belongings from the new BOO house were in my trailer on the way to me in VA was the professional way to handle it. So i can say with pride that I will NEVER play another note on stage with the group of cowards that is Born of Osiris. I don’t give a fuck what they think of me for putting their personal stuff out there, I want everyone to see them for who they really are. Im just happy the truth finally came out and now I know what truly matters to them and it is NOT putting out albums like The Discovery.
On another note I will continuing the rest of my musical endeavors with Chelsea Grin, as we are already really great friends and with the recent loss of their guitar player we were able to make the best out of two very shitty situations. I will be involved with the writing process of their next release which is supposed to be dropped before warped tour this summer. You guys heard how much a higher place sucked and what came after it, so get ready for some of the sickest CG you’ve ever heard!!!

Banked on memory, skin graft machinery, one more here self destruct sequence – this station is non-operational! Not anymore! Who could forget At The rive-In! The band was hitting on the g-spot when they decided to call it quits after an accident transpired in 2000. It was a quite mystery when they all left us hanging but I did expect this coming I’m sure they will be back and ding dong the televators. At the Drive-In announced their reunion on January 9, 2012 and are scheduled to play the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival April 15 and 22. You think Cedric Bixler-Zavala can do death-metal scream? That is just weird! Follow @Headbalisser

A moment of silence please! But that is just deafening isn’t it? We came across this hard knock situation and you can’t do anything about it! Howard Jones has posted a message on Facebook explaining his reasons for leaving Killswitch Engage.
“Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I’ve had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest they are the ones that kept me going. The whole experience definitely put a scare in me.
“Recently we’ve all been in writing mode but somehow I couldn’t get excited about the new album and all the touring that would go with it. The guys saw it before I did. In hindsight I now realize that my heart wasn’t in it. I have had an amazing decade with KSE. I love Justin, Mike D, Joel and Adam for hanging in there and standing by me no matter how bad it was. I have so many good memories, and those are the ones that I will keep. Will I be involved in music again? Sure, I have been in bands for a little over half my life, can’t stop now. Until then, get the new KsE album, it’s going to be good. Thanks everyone for letting me try to entertain you, and I wish myself well in my future endeavors. Gone fishin’ Howard.”
The band has so many followers! We better not to switch off the lights right?
“After a long time of deep soul searching and intense wrecking of the psyches, the new album is finally done. Soon you will meet this colossus that will pulverize your being. Welcome to the other side on March 27.”

Fok what the FOOK!! This is the FRAK Swede man!!
Meshuggah are back with a bang bang boom! That is right fellas! A new album coming from the extremist math metallers had been confirmed to destruct us on March 27. In an interview with Guitar World magazine, Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal was asked whether the band has been working on new music. “Yes, we are working on a new album and have been for a long time,” Fredrik said. “I’m so excited about this one. We’ve always tried to change how we write songs to keep it exciting, but on recent albums we’ve also been moving further away from working together as a band. On this album, though, everyone is working together. Every day that we’re in the studio, we’ll play whatever song we’re working on, record a demo version of it to analyze at home, and then come back the next day, talk about it and try to make it better. I think because of this, it’s going to be our best album yet.”
OH BTW HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
