Ok folks, I got this album months ago and I still cant wrap my head around its message. It means SERIOUS business! with a spine chilling intro and an orgasmic end, Otep’s latest ablum Atavist is a must have. I dropped the treble and turned up the bass on “Drunk on the Blood of saints” and I completely juiced up my pants! while “Skin of the Master” felt like my thoughts down a few shots of absynth, smoked some crack and had a total melt down. Otep’s words bore through my flesh and savagely mangle my soul. Her voice is that of a beautiful, seductive goddess of destruction. I don’t know about you but even though this may sound like “angry music”, I find myself at ease and in perfect solitude when I i listen to any of their albums. Just like “U R WMN NOW” from “Smash the Control Machine”, Atavist’s “We Dream Like Lions” soothes my spirit and and cradles my ego in an icy yogurt bath as bleed out on the bathroom floor. I’m dying to see the video for “Baby’s Breath”. I can only imagine the sound of the beast hammering her skull in over and over and over and over. A mortifying yet arousing sight. I’d hate to be her. The entire ablum is a mesh of anger, control, brutality and passion. Otep never fails to churn my marrow.
The new album will showcase ammunition of guitar skills made known in their 2nd album Ascendancy, expect uncluttered riffs, drop Ds and self-preaching solos. According to the band’s latest interview, Heafy said that the deal is for us to realize how great they play which is quite different compared to their previous albums since they worked hard more on the lyrical side of them. In Waves will punch us in the face like what the band is sure of befalling. Out on August 9, 2011.

02. In Waves
03. Inception Of The End

If Not Now, When? I wont talk about their latest cd this is not an album review kinda stuff rather a note to my self. This is going to be the 3rd time for the boys to play a night of megalomaniac hence I still don’t feel like spending to seeing them, not yet. It was in 2004 when these guys first rock’d Manila in support of “A Crow Left of the Murder” Incubus is a great band though I don’t posses even a single copy of their work but I know you would agree. Incubus has balls to prove in every side of their musicality so if its a feast there is always a new dish on your plate but problem is styles don’t make a band, diversity does.
Lately I’ve been thinking about my childhood days, its making me sick! I should have lived the dream! Dreaming of Deftones rocking out was one of the fondest imaginations of me a dirt-bag dude back in the day. Learned about Deftones when I was 13 the year when nu-metal conquered the airwaves. Chino Moreno’s air gasping voice makes me wanna do every suicide-girl with a knife, drive a convertible car mouth stuffed with freshly baked leaf and a lit cigar “half naked” drown my miseries into a sea of blood but no sharks okay!…Got carried away busy updating my facebook status about this concert well I’m so freaking excited finally the long wait is almost over! Everyone…. shove it!!!
